Monarch Beach Golf Links

With plenty of ocean views and superb conditioning, Monarch Beach Golf Links is a premium resort golf experience. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the par-70, 6,601-yard course which is part of the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort and Club, is laid out over gently rising dunes. The Pacific Ocean is in view through much of the course, even on the holes away from the water because they are set higher than the oceanfront holes. The signature hole is arguably the third, a short, downhill par 4 that ends on the edge of a bluff overlooking the Pacific. But there are plenty of inland holes with water features, deep bunkers, tight fairways and small, undulating greens. There are six sets of tees at Monarch Beach Golf Links, which played host to the 2001 Hyundai Team Championship on the PGA Tour Champions. From the back, the course has a slope of 138 and a rating of 72.8. The course also has excellent practice facilities that include a beautiful driving range short-game area and putting green. The resort has plenty of dining options, including Club 19, which overlooks the first tee. There's also a well-stocked golf shop as well as locker rooms in the clubhouse.
