30 minutes west of Altoona, Immergrun Golf Club in Loretto, Pennsylvania, was originally designed as a private course for American steel magnate Charles M. Schwab. Designed by Donald Ross, Immergrun features nine holes and measures almost 3200 yards from the tips. After Schwab’s death in 1939, his estate sold Immergrun to Saint Francis University and the golf course became public. Immergrun provides picturesque views and demanding challenges to golfers from March 15th to November 15th every year.
