The Stone Mountain Golf Club is in Stone Mountain, Georgia, a half-hour northeast of Atlanta and set in the shadows of the South's most spectacular mountain monument. Its two championship courses offer spectacular views of historic Stone Mountain, and both have challenged and delighted golfers for over 30 years. Both golf courses have bent grass greens with Bermuda fairways and tees. Famous architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed The Stonemont Course, the golf club's original 18 holes. The Stonemont Course is more challenging than the Lakemont, with long, narrow, tree-lined fairways. Built in 1969, it's hosted numerous Georgia amateur championships and national pro events. The par 70 Stonemont Course is maintained at a championship level, and it's the only Robert Trent Jones, Sr. course in Georgia that's open to the public.
