Recent renovations have improved three highly regarded courses across the state line in New York State: the picturesque 1917-vintage Harrison Meadows Country Club; Maple Moor Golf Course in White Plains, which dates back to 1927; and Saxon Woods in Scarsdale, which spreads out on rolling terrain. Greenwich truly shines in summer. It boasts five beaches, the most stunning of which is on a peninsula at Greenwich Point Park and looks out on the Manhattan skyline. Greenwich has its own unique scene. On Sunday afternoons the social set comes out for polo matches at the Greenwich Polo Club. The focal point of the town’s dining, shopping and nightlife is the architecturally resplendent Greenwich Avenue, fondly known as “The Avenue.”
