If you’re a Revolutionary War buff, Lexington is a must visit. This city northwest of Boston is where visitors can visit Lexington Green and see the Minuteman Statue and Revolutionary Monument that commemorates where the first shot was fired in the Revolutionary War. Here, you can witness re-enactments from the War, and visit scores of historic sites, such as Buckman Tavern, Munroe Tavern, the Hancock-Clarke House and so much more. The National Heritage Museum is also a great spot to learn about the history of the area, but you can also enjoy plenty of local restaurants and taverns.
