Best Golf Courses Near Bloomfield Hills, MI
It should come as no surprise that the wealthy community of Bloomfield Hills has some of the best private clubs in Michigan. The hamlet of just 3,000 or so people is headlined by the iconic Oakland Hills Country Club – a 36-hole facility where the South Course, designed by Donald Ross, has played host to 17 major championships including seven U.S. Opens and a Ryder Cup. Of course, for the most part you have to be a member to play a golf course like the South at Oakland Hills, also known as the “Monster” or any of the other high-end private clubs in and around Bloomfield Hills like Bloomfield Country Club, another Ross gem. But there are public golf courses in and around Bloomfield Hills as well. A couple of municipal nine-hole layouts in nearby Birmingham – Lincoln Hills Golf Course and Springdale golf Course are fun experiences for players of all levels. Or for an 18-hole experience, you can check out Sylvan Glen Golf Course in Troy, which is also just a few miles from Bloomfield Hills. The bottom line is that there’s plenty of golf in any direction in this region of one of the best golf states in America.
