Best Golf Courses Near Howell, MI
Located about 30 miles northwest of Ann Arbor, Howell is a town of around 10,000 people with a variety of things to see and do. Livingston’s County Seat has plenty of parks, Thompson Lake, the popular Howell Nature Center and Spicer Orchard Farms and Cider Mill. There’s also a local brewery and winery and it’s a popular area for hot air ballooning. There’s golf, too, of course, with several courses open to the public, both in Howell and the immediate surrounding communities. One of the highest rated public facilities is Hunters Ridge Golf Club, a 6,500-yard par 71. Faulkwood Shores and Chemung Hills golf clubs are two other popular choices open to the public. Chemung Hills opened in 1926. Other public courses in Howell include Ironwood Golf Club and Hawk Meadows at Darma Farms. Next door in Brighton is private Oak Pointe Club, which has two 18-hole courses, one designed by Michigan native Arthur Hills and the other, a 1918 design by Jerry Matthews.
