There’s plenty to do in Macomb Township, a community of roughly 80,000 people founded more than 180 years ago primarily by German settlers. Today, the community offers plenty of pristine parks, a performing arts center, a luxury movie theater and plenty of eateries. Locals and visitors alike can also book their tee times at a couple of pretty nice public golf facilities. Cracklewood Golf Club, for example, is a nice 18-hole course designed by Jerry Matthews and nephew Bruce Matthews III. Hickory Hollow, a par 73 layout, is another public option located right in Macomb. And then there’s 27-hole Sycamore Hills, another Matthews Family design located in Macomb. The township also offers a very enjoyable private club in Burning Tree Golf & Country Club.
