A popular place for festivals, art and even ice sculptures, Detroit suburb Plymouth has a lot going for it. The city’s “Art in the Park,” which has been going on since 1980, is the second largest fair in Michigan. The Plymouth Ice Spectacular takes place every January, drawing hundreds of thousands. Plymouth also has the “Green Street Fair,” which attracts large crowds, and the city’s Kellogg Park offers a variety of quaint restaurants and shops. Plymouth is also home to The Inn at St. John’s, a golf resort with 27 holes, as well as plenty of other golf options open to the public. Hilltop is a par-70 golf course designed by Jerry Matthews. It opened in 1927. And Brae Burn Golf Club, also in Plymouth, is a 1923 18-hole design by Wilfrid Reid and William Connellan. The surrounding areas like Livonia and Canton have several nice public layouts as well, including Idyl Wyld Municipal and Pheasant Run Golf Club.
