Best Golf Courses Near South Lyon, MI
Once an important railroad stop for trains crossing lower Michigan, South Lyon is a city of around 12,000 people with historic buildings, quaint restaurants, day spas, breweries, parks and outdoor recreation. This community, which is just 20 miles northwest of Detroit and about the same distance northeast of Ann Arbor, has annual festivals like the Pumpkinfest in the fall as the Witch’s Hat Depot Museum and Historic Village, which also stages festivals and public events. The public golf scene in South Lyon is also healthy with several courses that draw well from the entire region. One is 27-hole Tanglewood Golf Club, an all-bentgrass layout that opened in 1991 and was designed by Bill Newcomb.
