Once primarily a farming community covered with apple orchards, West Bloomfield is now one of the most diverse and affluent places to live in the state of Michigan. With a population of just over 65,000 people, this northern Detroit suburb has some of the nicest neighborhoods in the state. It also has some of Michigan’s best golf courses, particularly on the private side. Just seven miles east in neighboring Bloomfield Hills is where you’ll find famed Oakland Hills, which has two Donald Ross-designed course and has played host to nine major championships and two Ryder Cups.
