Perhaps best known as the home of Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti has a storied history, plenty of interesting things to see and plenty to do, both indoors and outdoors. This is where Domino’s Pizza started. It’s where the famed Tucker automobile was born and was produced in the late 1940s. And the last Hudson car dealership, which closed in Ypsilanti decades ago, is now home to the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum The town of around 20,000, which is next to Ann Arbor, has a summer beer festival among many other celebrations, and it also has its fair share of golf. Starting with the Eagle Crest Resort, there’s a nice variety of golf courses open to the public. Eagle Crest, which is owned by EMU and the home course of the EMU golf teams, is a beautiful 18-hole layout on Ford Lake. Other golf courses open to the public include 120-year-plus ol Washtenaw Golf Club, Hickory Creek Golf Course, Green Oaks Golf Course and Pine View, which has both an 18-hole course and par-3 layout.
