Best Golf Courses Near Walker, MN
Walker, a small Northern Minnesota resort town on Lake Leech, is best known as a fishing and boating destination and the site of the Moondance Jam and Moondance Jammin’ Country Fest that annually draw thousands of music lovers. Golfers can get their groove on while playing three courses in town. Spread out over 300 acres of up and down North Woods forestland, Long Bow Golf Club is a championship-style course that has been rated among the best in the state. Another North Woods classic is Tianna Country Club, a 1920s-vintage tree-lined course that skirts the Chippewa National Forest. Keep an eye out for tee time discounts at Tianna, which prides itself on its conditioning and friendliness and frequently offers tee time discounts. The remaining option is the 9-hole, par-28 Moonlight Bay Golf Course, formerly known as Wedgewood Golf Course. Note that Brainerd, home to a passel of impressive golf courses, is just an hour south of Walker. After golf, you’ll find nightlife and gambling outside of town at the North Light Casino & Hotel, though the real focal point of activity in Walker is the waterfront Chase on the Lake resort hotel.
