Perhaps best known as the home of the amusement park, Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka is a suburb located about 20 miles west of downtown St. Louis. The city is a popular spot to stay for anyone looking to enjoy the St. Louis area but it has several attractions right in Eureka as well. Often referred to as the Gateway to the Missouri Ozarks because of its rolling hills, Eureka has a nice collection of nature trails, paths and waterways located throughout more than 164 acres of parks and public land. Right next to Six Flags is Hurricane Harbor, an expansive water park open during the summer months, as well as the Great Midwest Antique Mall. The Eureka area also offers a nice variety of golf courses, both private and public. Pevely Farms Golf Club is a championship level Arthur Hills design close by in St. Louis, while Crescent Farms Colt Executive Course is a good nine hole option.
