Best Golf Courses Near Oxford, MS

One of the best college towns in America, Oxford is a great cultural destination located in the hills of northern Mississippi. Home of the University of Mississippi, or Ole Miss as it’s better known, Oxford offers all the great traits of a college town with terrific local eateries, pubs and big-time scene Southeastern Conference action in football, basketball and other sports. Visitors can stroll around the Town Square to get a feel for the spirit of the city or take a bike to the Holly Springs National Forest. Attractions include the University of Mississippi Museum; author William Faulkner’s former home, Rowan Oak; Oxford City Farmer’s Market, the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts; and the Thacker Mountain Rail-Trail, which is great for hiking and biking. The golf in the area is pretty stellar as well. Favorites include the Ole Miss Golf Course, a 7,000-yard championship course open to the public, as well as The Links at Oxford Golf and Country Club, an excellent nine-hole layout.
