The University of Montana is Missoula’s pride and joy and it boasts the oldest golf course in the city, an updated 9-hole layout from 1924 that enjoys a mountain setting just off campus. County-owned Larchmont Golf Club is a popular 18-hole tee time for all levels of players as it extends over flat terrain with elevated greens and tees. You’ll see nice houses and mountain vistas at Canyon River Golf Club, a layout that anchors an upscale residential community that is ringed by the Canyon River. Highlands Golf Club, which commands high ground overlooking the Missoula Valley, has nine greens but 18 teeing positions, while Linda Vista Golf Course is a par-29 executive layout.
