Best Golf Courses Near Bellevue, NE
Not only is Bellevue a suburb of Omaha, it is also Nebraska’s third largest city. The Cornhusker State’s oldest continuous settlement grew largely because of Offutt Air Force Base. The Air Force owns Willow Lake Golf Club, the only Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design in Nebraska. Unlike many military courses, this tough, championship layout is located off base and it welcomes public tee times in a setting that is free of housing. The top-rated course in Bellevue is the Tregaron Golf Course, where lakes, wetlands and creeks lend challenge and beauty. Bellevue’s muni, Eagle Hills Golf Club, provides a distinct mix of holes that alternate between open hills, wetlands, and woodlands. Bellevue is situated by the Iowa state line, so a number of Council Bluffs’ courses are within easy range when you are looking for tee times. Fox Run Golf Club is a top option there. The layout, dubbed one of the most improved in the U.S. in 2015 by Golf Advisor, spreads out amidst old trees, lakes and streams. Of course, Omaha also adds greatly to Bellevue’s golf options. After golf, since Bellevue is only 14 miles from downtown Omaha, the attractions, restaurants and nightlife of Nebraska’s largest city are close at hand. Bellevue itself is known for its lovely parks, most notably Fontenelle Forest, where you will find zip lines and other tree canopy attractions as well as miles of boardwalks and hiking trails.
