Best Golf Courses Near Cortland, NY

Known locally as the “Crown City,” Cortland is a college town with plenty to do and see for visitors. Home of SUNY Cortland University, the town is located in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York about 20 miles northeast of Ithaca, which is home to Ithaca College and Cornell University. Cortland, which has about 20,000 people, got its nickname because it is located on a plain formed by the convergence of seven valleys. The area boasts plenty of local restaurants, the Finger Lakes Tasting and Tap Room, a waterpark, Greek Peak Mountain Resort and plenty of golf open to the public. Among those courses is the popular Walden Oaks Country Club, a par-71 that plays nearly 6,300 yards. Willowbrook Golf Club and Elm Tree Golf Course are two more 18-hole layouts open to the public in Cortland.
