Best Golf Courses Near Norman, OK

Norman, Oklahoma’s third largest city, is a southern suburb of Oklahoma City. Home to the National Weather Center and, more importantly, the University of Oklahoma and its Sooners sports teams, it’s a lively college town with an artsy bent. While the storied OU football team plays on campus in an iconic stadium known as “The Palace on the Prairie,” the school’s golf teams play just off campus at a course you, too, can play–Jimmy Austin University of Oklahoma Golf Course, a long and tough layout with a creek running through it. Two other highly regarded courses are The Links at Norman Golf & Country Club, a tight layout that has earned Golf Advisor honors as one of Oklahoma’s top courses and one of the top courses for pace of play in the entire country, and Cobblestone Creek, a 9-hole par 3 course that Golf Advisor ranked as Oklahoma’s #4 top course in 2019. Yet another top course in Norman’s orbit is Winter Creek Golf & Country Club, a tough test where 14 lakes dot a playing field laid out on rolling hills in nearby Blanchard. After golf, check out OU’s Museum of Natural History, which is famous for its dinosaur fossils, and the Museum of Art, both of which are on campus. Downtown Norman may also be hopping with a festival or some other cultural event.
