Whether your preference is indoors or outdoors, Butler has you covered with all kinds of things to see and do. This little city 30 miles north of Pittsburgh offers a variety of shops, local restaurants, pubs, historic buildings and a few museums, including the Butler Art Center. There’s a local symphony and the Butler County Beer Circuit, which visitors can get a passport for and visit more than a dozen breweries. Outdoors, Moraine State park is nearly 17,000 acres with beaches, trails and 42 miles of shorelines. There’s also plenty of golf, led by the Conley Resort & Golf Club, which offers a par-70, 6,500-yard layout carved through the rolling hills. Other public courses include 27-hole Krendale Golf Course, LakeVue North and Aubrey’s Dubsdread Golf Course, which is both difficult and scenic.
