Named for a settlement of mechanics who made and repaired wagons in the early 1800s, Mechanicsburg is now known for its annual street fair, its theater, local dining, shopping, brewery and farmers market. Mechanicsburg, suburb, conducts its annual Jubilee Day, which is the largest and longest running one-day street fair on the East Coast. There’s also the Mechanicsburg Museum, which celebrates the town’s heritage and railroad. Mechanicsburg also offers its share of golf courses.
