Incorporated in 1799, West Chester is a historic small city in Pennsylvania’s Brandywine Valley. This city of 20,000 residents has historical buildings, like its beautiful clubhouse built in 1847, the West Chester Railroad, which offers tourists a fun eight-mile ride, scores of restaurants and pubs, a half dozen museums several wineries and breweries to enjoy. It also has an abundance of trails and parks as well as several golf courses. Among the public offerings is Broad Run Golfing Club, a very nice Rees Jones-designed course. Downington Country Club and the Bobby Weed-designed Glen Mills golf courses are also open to the public.
