Best Golf Courses Near Little River, SC
Every year in May and October, thousands upon thousands of people descend on the laid back town of Little River, South Carolina for the annual Blue Crab Festival and Shrimp Fest. All year long, however, this laidback old fishing village, the northernmost community on South Carolina’s Grand Strand, is a popular haven for Myrtle Beach golfers. Little River’s location near the SC/NC state line makes it an ideal base for tee times at stalwart North Carolina layouts such as the 27-hole Thistle Golf Club and the iconic “Big Cats”—Tiger’s Eye, Panther’s Run, Lions Paw and Leopard’s Chase. Meanwhile, superb North Myrtle Beach playing fields like Tidewater Golf Club and Barefoot Resort’s Dye, Fazio, Love and Normal eighteens are also close at hand. In Little River itself, Glen Dornoch is a challenging beauty on the Intracoastal Waterway, Eagle’s Nest Golf Club is playable for all skill levels and a bear from its 8,100-yard tips, and The Valley at Eastport Golf Club, also on the Intracoastal, is notable for its tough three-hole finish. Besides golf, Little River offers all sorts of water activities and tours—from deep sea fishing to jet skiing, dolphin viewing, and even casino gambling aboard a yacht—plus plenty of seafood. Outstanding beaches and the entertainment meccas Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing are also just minutes away. And so, too, are more golf courses.
