With an interesting history and loads of things to do both indoors and outdoors, Ogden is a mountain town with great skiing in the winter time and hiking, biking and exploring in the warmer months. Known now as a resort destination located close to the capital city Salt Lake City, Ogden emerged from its ominous past during prohibition to a must-see city today. Home to Weber State University, Ogden boasts the Ogden River Parkway Trail, George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park and several museums, including Ogden Union Station, which celebrates the city’s railroad history. It also has a good arts and culture scene, plenty of great local restaurants and breweries and distilleries, such as Roosters Brewing Co. on 25th Street and New World Distillery, respectively. The golf scene here is also pretty stellar. Among the most popular open to the public are Mount Ogden Golf Course and Wolf Creek Resort, located in nearby Eden.
