Best Golf Courses Near Minocqua, WI
In northern Wisconsin, Minocqua is known as the “Island City,” as it is surrounded by a chain of lakes and a record number of bodies of water. Fittingly, one of Minocqua’s favorite attractions is the world’s longest running water ski show. Tourists flood into town every summer to delight in camping, fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and ATV off-road touring. Golf may not even play second fiddle here, but Minocqua’s Timber Ridge Golf Course is one of the top-rated courses in Wisconsin thanks to its impeccable conditioning and stunning scenery. Timber Ridge is highly playable because its fairways run through generous corridors in the Northwoods forests. In nearby Saint Germain, high marks also go to Saint Germain Municipal Golf Club. Not only is it another of Wisconsin’s top courses, but it is also one of the best conditioned courses in the entire country. For a more atmospheric golf round, Trout Lake Golf Club, which rambles by the Trout River in Arbor Vitae, is the oldest golf club in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. The refurbished clubhouse is an old logging home from the 1880s. Minocqua may not be a golf destination, but you’ll find more than enough quality courses to keep you off the water in the Island City.
