Situated at the exact halfway point between the equator and the north pole, Wausau, a small city on the Wisconsin River, has a number of nine- and 18-hole courses that showcase the region’s rolling hills and Northwoods forests. The city’s original course, the 9-hole Tribute Golf Course, was an American Legion Post creation in 1929. Some 30 miles south of Wausau, Sentryworld in Stevens Point is a marvelous design with five acres of flower beds that help frame the varied collection of holes that beginners and highly skilled golfers alike can enjoy.
