The original course features 18 holes, followed by the Marina 9, developed by Lee Treviño in 1999 and described by Golf Today as “an absolute winner”. El Cid Golf & Country Club has been described as one of the most remarkable courses along the Pacific Coast of Mexico. It has generous Bermuda grass greens with fairways framed by majestic palms, pinon, rubber and capiros trees with abundant bird life, turtles and iguanas. Multiple holes play directly along or over water on this beautiful, diverse course, which presents challenges to golfers of all skill levels. The Castilla nine is our most approachable and forgiving course. Its spectacular setting offers a mixture of open spaces and tall, beautiful vegetation that creates a visually stunning and tranquil golfing experience. Its short, pleasurable holes and thoughtful design are destined to stand the test of time and will bring a smile to the face of most any golf enthusiast. The 3rd hole is Castilla’s signature hole. This fun par-3 with water down the right side of the entire hole will challenge the single-digit handicap players and provide excellent entertainment to the higher handicap player.

The 8th hole is known as “The Monster”. As a very entertaining 611 yard par-5, it qualifies as one of El Cid’s best holes every year during the Pro Tour stop.

Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Jr. and built in 1996, the Estrella del Mar Golf Course is unsurpassed in terms of play and breathtaking scenery. With only two other golf courses in Mazatlan, there is simply no comparable course in the Mazatlan area. The course layout is parallel to the 3.5 miles of pristine beach in the gated community of Estrella del Mar.
