Famously known as the Bethpage Black of the West Coast, La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, California, is an 18-hole course that is considered one of the toughest courses in the country with a 143 slope rating from the tips. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, La Purisima tips out at over 7,000 yards over 309 acres of rolling sand hills. The 5th at La Purisima plays uphill 433 yards with a zigzagging fairway and bunkers protecting its small, elevated green.
