Known for its excellent playing conditions and interesting layout, Timber Creek Golf Course is an award-winning daily fee facility located in the senior Del Webb Community of Sun City Roseville, just north of Sacramento. The two nines of Timber Creek, the Lakes and the Oaks, are the original 18 holes designed by Billy Casper and Greg Nash. Opened in 1996, the course was joined later by an additional nine holes called Sierra Pines, which can be rotated into a round with any of the original nines for variety. Timber Creek, which was rated as the 28th best course in California by Golf Pass readers in 2020, has five sets of tees, which range from 4,278 yards to 6,485 yards. The fairways are generally wide on this environmentally friendly layout that includes a bird sanctuary, with bunkering to catch wayward shots and large greens. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 429-yard 11th, a dogleg right with bunkering down the left side of the hole on the approach. The frontside Lakes features ponds and waterfalls; the Oaks more secluded within the groves lining its fairways. Timber Creek offers a three-tiered, thirty-station driving range with target greens as well as a large practice green complete with a bunker. Lessons are available from the staff as well. A golf shop, restaurant and banquet rooms are located in the clubhouse.
