Nestled on the banks of the Fox River, Pottawatomie Golf Course, which is owned and operated by the St. Charles Park District, is a beautiful nine-hole golf course offering scenic views with lush landscapes. The course, which opened in 1939 and was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., capitalizes on the course's location on the river, even incorporating an island green on the par-4 third hole. The par-35 layout, which has three sets of tees, plays to 3,007 yards from the tips. Throughout the years, the course has been improved, especially along the river, where projects have been undertaken to stabilize the banks. Other improvements in recent years include the restoration of tees, bunker renovations to restore Jones original design, better drainage and irrigation, and work to increase native vegetation, helping the course maintain Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status. Pottawatomie Golf Course does not have a driving range, but there is chipping green and putting green. The clubhouse features a golf shop and restaurant.
