Riverwalk Golf Club, in the heart of San Diego's Mission Valley, offers a traditional and convenient golf experience for players of all abilities. The challenging, resort-oriented golf course features undulating greens, strategic bunkering and tree-lined fairways. Water hazards come into play on 13 of the 27 holes, with a spectacular waterfall behind the green of #3 on the Mission, the club's signature hole. The San Diego River winds its way through the layout, contributing to the beauty and challenge of the course.
Riverwalk Golf Club's three nine-hole courses – the Mission, the Presidio, and the Friars – were designed by Ted Robinson and opened in 1998. Previously known as the Stardust Country Club, the old course challenged many of golf's legends when it hosted the PGA Tour's San Diego Open during the 1950s. San Diego's major champions Phil Mickelson, Billy Casper, Craig Stadler and Scott Simpson all developed their games at the former club.
Riverwalk is less than a fifteen-minute drive from most of San Diego's major attractions, including Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Harbor & Airport, Qualcomm Stadium (where the Chargers and SDSU Aztecs play), Petco Park (where the Padres play), the US Navy and USMC bases, the Convention Center and the Gaslamp District. There's a San Diego Trolley (Green Line) station less than 500 yards from the clubhouse at the Fashion Valley Mall.
