One of the finest clubs in the Toledo area, Belmont Country Club offers a challenging and well-kept golf course with a championship pedigree. Originally opened in 1968 and designed by Chicago golf course architect Robert Bruce Harris, the course is laid out over what used to be a farm and later the Belmont Hunt Club. It was later renovated by Arthur Hills, who has designed dozens of courses in Ohio and Michigan. Today, the layout stretches to nearly 7,000 yards with a unique six-tee setup to satisfy every level of golfer. Tree-lined fairways, water features and large, fast greens are what Belmont Country Club is known for. It?s been a host course for more than one U.S. Open qualifier. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 560-yard, par-5 sixth, a dogleg left that works around a large lake. A lake also comes into play on the finishing hole. The 18th is a 453-yard par-4 with a lake down the entire right side. Besides the golf course, Belmont Country Club also has a driving range and practice putting green. Its lesson program is also highly touted. The clubhouse offers a well-stocked golf shop as well as the Eagle Gill Room and a fine dining restaurant.
